Rosario annual festival of mini soccer
Over 600 mini soccer players invaded Ulidia playing fields on 12th May 2012 for our annual football tournament.
After the success of last year's event, the net was widened to include teams at 2002, 2003 and 2004 age groups and the action stretched over the whole day. Over 50 teams competed in the spectacle of wall-to-wall soccer!
The day kicked-off with a parade led by young musician of the year, Bradley Parker. The 2002 and 2004 teams competed in the morning and the 2003s took to the pitches for the afternoon sessions. Jim Shaw, President of IFA and Niall Ó Donnghaile Lord Mayor of Belfast inspected the parades and made the presentations.
The winning teams were:
2002s Aquinas (runners up St Mary's)
2003s Cup - North Belfast (beating Rosario Spartans on sudden death penalties)
2003s Championship - Ridgeway Rovers (runners up Lurgan Town)
2004s Ridgeway Rovers (runners up Castle Juniors)
This was very much a family event and attended by parents, grannies, grandas, brothers and sisters who witnesses the unbridled enthusiasm and committment from our young players.
A big thank you to everybody who contributed to making the day a success. Also thanks to our sponsors:
